Waterside Feast for Foodies in Port
Macquarie this October
For a gourmet journey around
Port Macquarie's extraordinary
locations and attractions, the
region's annual food and wine
festival, The Holiday Coast
Credit Union Tastings of the
Hastings, is on this October.
The region's chefs, winemakers,
farmers and producers have
devised a tasty program including
'Slice of Haven North Brother
Brunch' at 560 metres high on a
mountain top, an 'Evening with the
Beer Diva' at the Little Brewing
Company, 'High Tea on the High Rise' at Rydges and the 'Six
Degrees of Degustation Dinner'.
The main event, The Holiday Coast Credit Union Tastings of
the Hastings Food and Wine Festival on Sunday 24 October,
will feature more than 60 food and wine exhibitors, cooking
demonstrations and family entertainment.
More than 7,000 patrons are expected to eagerly sip, sup
and sample the diverse range of products from throughout the
mid north coast food bowl. The venue is the Port Macquarie
Race Course from 10am to 3pm and entry is by gold coin
"Named after the beautiful Hastings River that winds
through the region, Holiday Coast Credit Union Tastings of the
Hastings is a mouth-watering array of food and wine
experiences," said Linda Hall, Tourism Manager at Port
Macquarie Hastings Council.
"The River and our waterways are a central theme for the
festival, from the views and event locations, to the abundance
of seafood, such as freshly farmed oysters, fish and prawns,"
Other events include 'Jazz in the Vineyards' at Bago, 'The
Wauchope Long Lunch', 'Two Chefs---the Corner and the
Other' and 'Port Panthers Dinner'. Cassegrain Winery, Sea
Acres Rainforest Centre, Peak Coffee and a variety of other
producers will also add events to the program.
